Six airlines – Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways, and Spirit Airlines – are consolidating their flight operations in LaGuardia Airport in New York beginning December 9th as the airport goes through an ongoing modernization project. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey plans to renovate the 78-year-old airport that specializes in short and medium haul cargo services.

The ongoing $8 billion project of the airport involves transforming it into a unified airport with new terminals, an improved roadway system, new parking infrastructure and other associated projects. It is expected to be completed by 2021.
